Dr Gill Halhead
Gill qualified from Dundee University in 1995 and spent 4 years in Scotland completing her GP training in the Dundee and Perth area.
She moved south in August 1999 to Lancashire to return to her roots and has remained there ever since. She initially worked as a locum doctor in the area and was offered a partnership at one of the practices where she worked. Her partnership commenced in July 2000 and she remained there until the end of March 2015.
She decided to take the locum route for an improved work/life balance but remains committed to excellent clinical care and dedication to her work. During her time as a partner she has had many varied roles including enhanced services lead, mental health lead, dementia lead, HR lead, deputy safeguarding lead, stroke lead and has been involved in the teaching of 4th and 5th year medical students.
